Acoustic Tester 213A

  • Measures Loudness Rating, OREM A/B/CH and EIA 470
  • Unaffected by surrounding noise
  • IEEE 488 BUS Interface and RS 232 output

The Acoustic Tester is a plugin module to Telecom Tester 213. With Artificial Head 214 (or Brüel & Kjær) it measures the acoustic parameters of a handset. A sweep of up to 46 frequencies gives the frequency response curves for the transmitter, receiver and side tone. A pass/fail test can be made against pre-set limits for the mask (upper and lower limit of the frequency response) as well as for the calculated Loudness Rating or OREM values. The impedance at 1kHz is measured as well.

The sweeps are made very fast due to selective tracking filters for each frequency. This makes the tester very suitable for production test as well as for quality assurance.

Every single frequency is measured several times. The lowest and highest result are deleted and a mean value is calculated of the remaining values. This measuring method gives a high accurate test result, and makes the tester unaffected by surrounding noise.

An Artificial Line attenuator simulating line lengths from 0km to 8km in 0.5km step, is included.
